Princpal's Blog 4-18-19

4-18-19

Dear Parents,

Thank you for your patience, understanding and dedication to our Legacy Point Community.  We have had quite the past couple of days!  We've had a fire truck on site due to a false alarm being pulled, a controlled dismissal with our lock out (thank you for helping us with this), and a news crew on site this morning.  The news was here doing a story on the heightened presence of security at our schools.  Here is the link to the story:

As a reminder, please remember to bring your Drivers License into the building with you.  We need to check all adults into the office upon arrival to ensure the safety of our staff and students.  Thank you for your cooperation with this.

Upcoming Dates:

Friday, April 19th - No School, Teacher Comp Day

Friday, April 26th - College Gear Friday!  Bring $1.00 (or two) and students will wear their favorite college gear.  All money raised will go toward purchasing a cooler so we can recycle our uneaten and still closed/wrapped food.  We will donate all of these items to the Parker Task Force.  One cooler is $1,200.  This is a student designed and coordinated project.  Let's make a difference in our community!  Ponderosa has generously donated $250.00 to get us going.

Friday, May 10th - Muffins with Mom (before school)

Saturday, May 11th 9:00 a.m. - Graduation Gallop at Sagewood,  Registration - join us for this fun PHS Feeder Event!

Survey:
We need to hear from you! Our SAC is going to be using this data to evaluate where we are as a school this year. If you haven't already, please take this Leader in Me Measurable Results Assessment. https://mra.leaderinme.net/survey/index.php?r=survey/index&sid=827926&token=b113b941ba56c00e1d05fbf8ed1a79d3&lang=en&newtest=Y
Your son/daughter should have brought home a half sheet of paper  for you to sign to show when you have completed this.  We will be hosting a donut party for randomly selected students who have turned in the parent completion slip, and the class with the highest percentage of returns of the slip will receive a pizza party with me.  We need to have 80% of our community participate and this is the data we find most valuable so please help us!

PTIB/SAC Involvement
LPE can't do the things we currently do without your help. We are in NEED of parent involvement. Please Click this link to find out what types of things each of these parent groups do as well as a quick sign up to express your interest. We are interested in people who want to help with just one event a year, or who want to dive in with all of them. Research shows, parents who are involved in education have kids who perform better and are well adjusted. Please help!

As always, please let us know if you have questions.  Legacy Point appreciates you!
